Dear Rick,
It's been a year, but still feels like yesterday! Alot of things have changed, so much I wanna tell you but mostly I hope u know how much you mean to us. Not a day goes by that ur not missed, loved and remembered. I'm still mad at people and I guess I will never get over that. Please keep watching over us big brother I love n miss u more than u will ever know!

Uncle Rick, I can't believe your gone. I can't stop crying. I miss you so much. Mom can't sleep, or eat. She cries non stop, hoping you will walk through the door. She spent hours painting a remembrance cross for you. We lit a candle in hopes you find your way back. I got my guitar out and started to play, the one you and mom bought me for my birthday. I'm going to learn Stairway To Heaven and Tears in Heaven. I will play these just for you. God, we miss you. I miss you picking on me, poking my ribs, pulling my toes. I miss your hugs, kisses and I love you"a. I miss talking to you and running into your arms the moment I see you pull up.
Mom said she will play a song for you the last time she gets to see you. The song is called, Love Me. It's beautiful. She loved you so much. She doesn't know how to deal with this. I'm afraid she is broken and I don't know how to help because I'm broken. You were the strongest man I ever knew and my mom the strongest woman but now your gone and I see how weak she has become over this. She is devastated and no one else has made this any easier for her. I miss Matt and want to hug him and cry in his arms. I miss you. I miss you. I love you. I will not say good bye as you already know this. I will see you later. Until then we will be loving you from here. Mom said everytime she sees a butterfly she will think of you. Thank you uncle Rick for showing us love, for helping mom take care of us and for being there when no one else was. I love you, and austyn and mom love you . So Fly with the butterflies and angels.

Rick, I miss u so so much already! It hurts bad and I just want to wake up from this nightmare. U have so many people who love and miss u including the other 2 musketeers Shawn and Johnny. I would give anything to take their pain away, the hurt they are going thru is unexplainable. There are no words to describe this huge void in our lives without u here! U have the biggest heart, would do anything for the ones u love and that's what I love the most about u! I'm gonna miss u picking on me everyday, pulling my hair or trying to hold me down and crack my toes lol. That's what big brothers do, pick on their little sisters right? Damn it! I hate this so much Rick! U are the greatest brother, best friend, anyone could ever ask for and are truly one of a kind! Knowing we won't be able to hear ur voice, or see u everyday hurts. But also knowing u are no longer hurting gives us just a little bit of peace. I hope u knew how much u mean to us, how much we love u and are missing u. I'm not gonna say goodbye to u, I'm just gonna say later. So until the next time, we love u and miss u so much! Spread those wings and fly my friend
