Virginia M. "Ginny" Macedo Farrell, 83
Virginia M. "Ginny" Macedo Farrell, age 83, passed away on January 28, 2026, at Vancrest in St. Marys, Ohio. Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, on August 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Rothfelder) Macedo. Known for her great personality and a smile that would light up any room, Ginny was deeply loved by all who knew her.
Ginny dedicated much of her life to others, but the role she loved most was teaching children in the Head Start program. She also had a passion for finding antiques and unique collectibles, often enjoying the "hunt" as much as the treasures she found for herself or for others.
She was first married to the late Michael W. Aquaro, with whom she had three sons. She later married Robert Farrell, and they moved to Florida, where she resided for many years. In 2024, she moved to St. Marys, Ohio, to be with her son, Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia Macedo, her son, James Robert Aquaro and a grandson, Steven Jeffrey Aquaro. She is survived by her sister, Linda Sparkman of Paisley, Florida; her children, Michael Aquaro (Loretta) of St. Marys, Ohio, and John Aquaro (Kristine) of Methuen, Massachusetts; and her daughter-in-law, Margaret Aquaro. Her legacy also lives on through 11 grandchildren-Carolyn, Brittney, Michael Jr., Nicole, Jake, Kali, Kristen, Kourtney, Kaitlyn, Kyle, and GlenKate-and 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Massachusetts with her family and friends.
