OBITUARY

Thomas W. Campbell, Jr., 92, of St. Marys Twp. in Auglaize Co., OH died 7:28 p.m. Sunday July 27, 2025 at Hospice of Miami Co. in Troy, OH.

He was born November 16, 1932 in Dayton, OH to Thomas and Joanna (Egan) Campbell, Sr.

On March 17, 1967 in Dayton, OH he married Imogene Elam-Craft, who died July 5, 2021.

Survivors include:

step-son Richard (Patty) Craft of West Milton, OH

step-daughter Debra (Scott) Hamilton of St. Marys, OH

6 grandchildren: Ricky (Shari), Ronnie, Michael, Tiffanie (Jimmy), Nicole, Josh

numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Extra special to Grandpa were Kinzey, Korbin, Lincoln, Nova and Indy.

He was preceded in death by:

Parents Thomas and Joanna Campbell, Sr.; wife Imogene Campbell; son Thomas P. Campbell; daughter Marie A. Campbell; son Mark Campbell; son Ronnie Craft; brother Jerry Campbell

He was a graduate of Beavercreek High School (Class of 1950). He then graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dayton, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at U.D., he was a member of the Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society.

Mr. Campbell was a member of the American Society for Quality Control and a Certified Quality Control Engineer. The majority of his career was spent with Associated Spring U.S. (Division of Barnes Group) in both Dayton, OH and Bristol, CT. He held various management positions at both locations, primarily in the field of engineering.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Celina, OH, Grand Lake Rec Club, Snow Dreamers and Lake Improvement Association.

Tom and Imogene truly enjoyed living at their home on Grand Lake St. Marys. His favorite pastimes included boating and snowmobiling on the lake. Kind and outgoing, they developed many close friendships in this area. When not having fun at Grand Lake, Tom and Imogene enjoyed taking cruises, visiting other lakes and spending time in Florida. He was a big fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team and University of Dayton Flyers basketball program.

Funeral Rites are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 7, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. 

Visitation 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Miami Co.
