Thomas S. Lecy, 73, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died suddenly on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his residence.
He was born January 9, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Henry and Velda Lecy.
He married Sheryl Krause on September 22, 1967, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Novato, California, and she survives in New Knoxville.
He is also survived by his children: John Lecy; Dan Lecy; Matt Lecy; Chris Venema; and by 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings: Hank and Nell Lecy.
Tom was a graduate of Tamalpais High School and Jr. College in Mill Valley, California.
He was a great athlete and was going to play baseball for Chicago Cubs, but his career ended after he broke his leg. He never gave up, though, and was a graduate of the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California, where he studied under Ansel Adams. The art and craft of photography has always been his trade; he was a printer through and through for many years.
He worked in Printing Services at the Way International in New Knoxville, Ohio. He and Sheryl also ran a photography business together, and he had previously worked in Printing Services at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne University, and as a teacher at IPFW. He later worked in Printing Services at the Way International, touching many lives in the process. He truly turned his photography into art.
He and Sheryl fellowshipped with the Way International Ministry in New Knoxville, Ohio, for many years.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Pastor Tom Kaufman, officiant.
Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
