Thomas V. Fettig, 89, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday June 16, 2026 at 3:38 AM, at The Springs of Lima , after a short illness.
Tom was born on January 29, 1937, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, the son of Francis and Violet (Lucas) Fettig- Perkins. His parents preceded him in death. On September 2,1961, he married K. Sue Reaman, who preceded him in death on September 6,2015.He missed her tremendously- she was the love of his life. Tom was a Marine Veteran and was very proud of his service. He was a HVAC Mechanic and eventually retired in sales for a plumbing and heating supplier.
Tom was very active most of his life, he enjoyed golfing and bowling and camping, along with playing cards. He and Sue loved to travel. Their friends and the "camping gang," were always a big part of the fun times they had. The card group is now reunited in Heaven; he truly missed all his friends who had gone on before him. He was a member of Knights of Columbus 2661, FOE 370 Lima Eagles, and volunteered at St. Charles and LCC at various events. He was even known to have a beer or two now and then. Tom was a loyal Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. He also was an usher at the Civic Center.
He is survived by his daughter; Vicki (John) Ritchie, of Lima: his son; Kevin (Michele Bunker) of Austin, TX: grandchildren; Shawn (Haley) Ritchie, and Andrew Ritchie, both of Columbus, and great -grandchildren: Charlotte James Ritchie, and Crew Everett Ritchie. His siblings; his brother, Louis Fettig of Florida, a sister; Nina Zankoski preceded him in death. Tom was a devoted family man and worked hard to support them. He went to his grandchildren's soccer games and all their events. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
Visitation will be held in the gathering space at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2000 W. Elm St Lima Ohio 45805, on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 9:30-11:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, officiated by Fr. Dave Ritchie.
