Ted L Rush

Ted Rush, 82, of Saint Marys, died 3:35 A.M. Friday, January 27,2023 at Vancrest of St. Marys. 

He was born to Roy and Ileen (Blumenhorst) Rush on May 19, 1940, in Saint Marys.

 On August 22, 1958, he married Jean Burden. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2022. 

Ted is survived by one son, Scott (Amy) Rush, one daughter, Shelly (Mark) Fledderjohann, one daughter in law Jennifer (Allery) Webb, and Terry Lininger. 

He is survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, son Craig, brother Ray, and sister Sharon. 

Ted graduated in 1958 from New Bremen High School and  joined the Navy. He was stationed on the USS North Hampton. After the military, they moved back to Saint Marys to raise his family.

 He was a Foreman at Parker Hannifin until he lost his eyesight in 1985. He was an avid fisherman with many trips to Lake Erie with his boys and fellow fishing friends.  He was also an amazing cook. He always loved to cook huge family meals. His pride and joy was his family.  Nothing made him happier than to spend time with his kids and grandkids. 

He was a member of the VFW post 9289. 

Funeral rites will be held  1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2023,  at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Tim Benjamin,, officiant.

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M.  until the time of services on  and Ted's family requests that all visitors please dress casually.

Private burial services at Elm Grove Cemetery will be done at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made out to Auglaize County Dog Warden, or donors' choice of charity.
