Tami (Slone) Perez

December 16, 1962 ~ November 26, 2022 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Obituary

Tami Lynn Slone Perez died unexpectedly following open-heart surgery at the Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center on November 26, 2022.

Tami was born on December 16, 1962 at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St Marys Ohio.

Tami was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Slone, her maternal grandparents Cordie and Edgle Wicker and her paternal grandparents Lawrence and Elizabeth Slone.

Tami leaves behind many broken hearts including her daughter Kristi Reedy (Joe Hower) Wapakoneta Ohio, her son Joshua Reedy St Marys Ohio, brothers Rick Slone (Pam) Antwerp Ohio, Chris Slone (Brenda Von Sosson) St Marys Ohio, sister Margie Henry (Mitch) Dublin Ohio. Tami enjoyed spending time in Columbus and contemplated moving to Dublin to live with her sister in Dublin.

Tami was blessed with 8 grandchildren and loved her time with them. She planned weekends for sleepovers, pizza, and crafts with Kameron Stein, Brayden Swartz, Jayden Hardin, Kayden Swartz, Landen Hardin, Maya Reedy, Brooklyn Reedy, and Harmony Reedy.

Tami had 5 nieces including Erin Whittaker, Crystal Slaven, Jamie Slone, Taylor Paynter and Mindy Slone, and 3 nephews, Luke Henry, Justin Slone, and Chuck Slone. She loved visiting and traveling with them and they will all miss her so much.

Tami formed friendships easily during her work, at home time, and her travels. They will miss her. She loved her travels, playing cards (Golf and 5 Crowns), Mimosas, and spending time with her family. During one of her many cruises, she earned a new title, “partner” that meant the world to her. This was given to her best little buddy Cooper Henry.

She had a big heart.

Tami attended Memorial High School in St Marys Ohio where she graduated in 1981.

She graduated from Wright State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. Wanting to advance herself, she earned an LCDC3 professional license in Chemical Dependency.

Tami made a career working in the community and Ohio Prison System specializing in the area of mental health. She was passionate about her work and helping others in the IDD population. She reluctantly retired due to health issues 2 years ago from the Allen Correctional Institute and Oakwood Correctional Facility after 20 years of continuous service. She truly cared for her clients.

Her memorial and celebration of life will be held at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St Marys with a viewing on Wednesday November 30, 2022 at 5:00-8:00 pm and funeral service on Thursday December 1, 2022 at 10:30 am with reception to follow at the Eagles in St Marys.
