Sylvester Dewayne Jones

Sylvester Dewayne Jones, 69, of Lima, OH, passed away at home on Monday, May 11, 2026. He was born on August 30, 1956, in Lima, Ohio.

Known to many friends and loved ones as Dewayne or Wayne, he spent much of his early adult life working at various bakeries before later retiring from Nelson Packaging. He enjoyed watching sports, National Geographic, and exploring the world - through television from the comfort of his home. A kind and incredibly funny introvert, Dewayne loved his family deeply and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Doris Jones; his wife, Sandra Waldron; and his brother, Jerry Jones.

He is survived by his siblings, Willie Anne Tisdale, Larry Jones, and Terry Jones; his two children, Gentry Parks (Larry) and Jonas Jones (Heather); his nine grandchildren, Dream, Alayah, Milan, Autumn, Cameron, Sevyn, Giana, Kaiden, and Alaiya; and his loving companion, Dorothy Burnfield 

Visitation and a service will be held from 5 pm - 6 pm, Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Hanneman-Siferd Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd, Lima, Oh 45805. Friends and family are welcome to come and celebrate Dewayne’s life.
