OBITUARY

Susan K. Lengerich, 62, of New Knoxville, OH died 6:55 p.m. Thursday August 24, 2023 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born July 28, 1961 in Toledo, OH.

On July 1, 1995 at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys, she married Karl J. Lengerich, who survives.

                            brother David (Dorothy) Kiel of St. Marys, OH

                            brother Gregg (Lisa) Kiel of Elida, OH

                            nieces and nephews

                            brother-in-law Robert (Emily) Lengerich of Shawnee, OH

                            brother-in-law Gary (Kaye) Lengerich of Maplewood, OH

                            sister-in-law Maja (Jeni) Reed of Willis, MI

Preceded in death by: father Richard Kiel; parents-in-law John and Sylvia Lengerich

She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1979) and earned bachelor's and master’s degrees from Bowling Green State University.

She taught at the Spencerville Schools for 26 years and then at Indian Lake High School after that.

She was a member of New Knoxville United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers’ Association.

Her favorite pastimes included baking, cooking and quilting. She was also active with the “Hands in Mission” group at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moulton, OH and volunteered for the “Loaves and Fishes” community meal for many years.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 30, 2023 at the NK United Methodist Church, with the Rev, Dennis Gaertner, officiating.

Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the “Loaves and Fishes” community meal.
