OBITUARY

Susan E. Greenawalt, 76, (formerly of St. Marys, OH) died Saturday December 14, 2024 at her residence in Warrensville Heights, OH.

She was born July 29, 1948 in Piqua, OH to Chalmers and Rose E. (Lewis) Greenawalt.

Survivors include: niece Kathy (Ron) Greenawalt-Cherry of Dayton, OH

                              great-nephew Taylore (Tiffany) Cherry of Dayton, OH

                              sister-in-law Joyce Greenawalt of St. Marys, OH

                              3 “grandchildren”: Tony Shears Tiller, Kaila Burnley, Kaiyon Rogers-Turk

                              a large circle of close friends from the Cleveland area

Preceded in death by: parents Chalmers and Rose Greenawaly; brother Charles Greenawalt; nephew Charles Greenawalt, Jr.

She attended St. Marys Memorial High School and graduated from Castalia High School; she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kent State University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Case Western Reserve University.

An English teacher, she taught at St. Marys Memorial High School, St. Peter Chanel High School in Bedford, OH and Cuyahoga Hills Boys’ Juvenile Corrections Facility in Highland Hills, OH.

Susan devoted her life, both personally and professionally, to caring for others. She adored children and went out of her way to assist those in need.

Her favorite pastimes included cooking, baking and knitting.

A public service to celebrate her life will be announced in the Springtime.
