Sandra (Sandy) Swann Fledderjohann, 71, of Carmel, Indiana, died shortly before dawn on Friday, November 29, 2024.
Sandy was born March 22, 1953, in Henderson, Kentucky, the daughter of Dr. Layson Swann and Joanne Robison Swann Reynolds. On August 14, 1977, she married Daniel Fledderjohann in the chapel at Toccoa Falls College, Georgia.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Daniel; sisters Meredith Campana of Ashburn, VA, and Geri Lewis and husband, Jerry, of Florissant, MO; brother Stephen Reynolds and wife, Kimberly, of Middletown, MO; in laws Dennis and Liz Fledderjohann of Darian, IL; Darrell and Sandy Fledderjohann of Colorado Springs, CO; Doyle and Julie Fledderjohann of Celina, Ohio; Mike and Doris Alderink of Westfield, IN; sister-in-law Margaret Fledderjohann Pinney of Toccoa, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Tammy Reynolds and Margie McCullen, brother Layson Swann, brother-in-law David Fledderjohann and “adopted” family member, D Pinney.
Sandy was a graduate of Chamberlin High School in Tampa, FL in 1971 and Toccoa Falls College, graduating magna cum laude with a BS Elementary Education in 1977.
After their marriage Sandy and Daniel lived in Wheaton, IL, where Sandy worked for Wheaton College and Daniel attended graduate school. After graduation they relocated to Athens, GA, where Sandy attended the University of Georgia briefly. In January of 1983 they relocated to Carmel, IN. For the past 28 years Sandy worked for Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, concluding her time there as the Executive Administrative Coordinator.
Graveside funeral rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday December 20, 2024, at the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery near New Knoxville, Ohio.
