Sam Ellis Weilbacher

Sam E. Weilbacher, 76, of St. Marys, OH died 6:42 a.m. Thursday July 20, 2023 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, OH.

He was born October 9, 1946 in San Antonio, TX.

On October 12, 1971 in Elkton, KY he married Carolyn Ann Gibbs, who survives.

Also survived by: son David G. Weilbacher of St. Marys, OH

                            daughter Holly (George) Wolfe of Richmond, IN

                            2 grandchildren: T.J. Hickman and Rue Wolfe

                            1 great grandson: Axton Hickman

Preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Marsee.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He also served with the Ohio National Guard.

He was a retired diesel mechanic for the General Dynamics Corp. (Tank Plant) in Lima, OH.

His favorite pastimes included watching auto racing and football. He also enjoyed working on automobiles.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday July 28, 2023 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West). Pastor Mike Smith will officiate the services.

Military funeral honors will follow the services at the funeral home.

Visitation 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
