Rolland J. Hegemier, 85, of Saint Marys, Ohio, died 7:44 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1940, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of August and Esther (Roediger) Hegemier.
He is survived by his longtime companion Kimberly Wiehe-Kaylor of Saint Marys; by his daughters: Lisa Hegemier of Cleveland; Lori (Donald) Shellabarger of Mendon; by his step-children: Steve (Kim) Fortney of Yukon, Oklahoma; Ruth (Theodore) Henry of Wapakoneta; Jerry (Daniella) Tangeman of Sidney, Ohio; by his son-in-law, Marco Diaz of Brooklyn, New York.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Daniel (Brand)Shellabarger; Abby (Grant) Laffin; Faith (Cameron Hilty) Shellabarger; August Diaz; Alexander Diaz; by three great-grandchildren: Aubree Shellabarger, Hudson Laffin, Mitch Shellabarger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janice Hegemier Diaz; by an infant son; by his brothers: Dave Hegemier; Donald Hegemier; Roger Hegemier; William Hegemier.
Rolland was a 1958 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after 35 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys. Rollie loved golfing and got the opportunity to play the course at Pebble Beach. On July 17, 2020, he made hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Northmoor Golf. He enjoyed traveling and cheering for the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Paul Gruetter, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
