Robert Lee Deitsch, 84, of Saint Marys, Ohio, died 11:50 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, Saint Marys.
He was born April 24, 1941, in Saint Marys, the son of Lloyd and Ethel (McDonald) Deitsch.
He married Sharon Carroll on November 17, 1963, in Haddonfield, New Jersey on November 17, 1963; she survives in Saint Marys.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kathlyn Carroll of Decatur, Illinois; by his children: Rhoda Deitsch of Kenton, Ohio; David (Tanya) Deitsch of Anna, Ohio; by four grandchildren: Tyler Deitsch; Jessica (Joseph) Powers; Grace Deitsch; Joshua Deitsch, and two great-grandchildren, Uriah Powers and Barrett Deitsch.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings: William Deitsch; Lloyd Deitsch, Jr; Donald Deitsch.
Bob was a graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Korea as a dog handler, and with the 1st Infantry Division in Fort Riley, Kansas, where he was in the 1st Infantry Band.
He retired from the Minster Machine Company, after 37.5 years of service, where he was a machinist.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Shawnee. He was also a member of the Auglaize County Alumni Band, where he played saxophone.
Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Martin Ross, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be given to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
