Phyllis A (Stanek) Hirn

Phyllis A. Hirn, 81, of Mendon, Ohio, died 8:54 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Hospice of Dayton.

She was born February 1, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Kenneth Stanek and Wauneta Woods.

She married Glenn Hirn, Sr. on November 28, 1964; he preceded her in death on December 25, 1993.

She is survived by her children: Rowe (Teresa) Briggs of Venedocia, Ohio; Rhonda (Charles) Myers of Dayton; David (Penny) Hirn of West Carrollton, Ohio. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Roger Stanek; by her husband, Glenn Hirn.

Phyllis was a 1959 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had worked as a nurses’s aide in numerous nursing homes and later at Visions in Celina. Phyllis loved music and played the organ at Miller Funeral Home for several years. She also enjoyed reading, doing crochet work and taking care of her cats.

Funeral rites will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Andrew Atkins, officiant. 

Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
