Phillip E. Marker 61, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died Monday, June 2, 2025, at his residence.
He was born April 27, 1964, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the son of Charles and Barbara (Jacobs) Marker. His father survives in Celina.
He married Kristine Kinney on March 15, 1986, in Bellefontaine, and she survives in New Knoxville.
He is also survived by his children: Erin (Charles Tranter) Marker of Marion, Indiana; Doug Marker of Ft. Wayne. He is survived by his siblings: Bill (Charnelle)Marker of Ft. Wayne; Douglas (Sherrie) Marker of Cape Coral, Florida and Frank (Gretchen) Marker of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Julia Kinney of Bellefontaine; his sisters-in-law Cathleen (Don) Phipps of Marysville, Ohio; KimberLee (Tom) Reynolds of Bellefontaine; Kitrina Jones of Bellefontaine.
He was preceded in death by his mother and by an infant sister, Cynthia Marker.
Phil was a 1982 graduate of Bellefontaine Senior High School. He attended North Central Michigan University. He was the retired maintenance supervisor at the Wapak Manor and he had also worked at Dad’s Toy Shoppe in Wapakoneta for numerous years. His real love was serving his community as a 20 year member of the New Knoxville Fire Department, where he retired as Captain and EMT. His family and friends considered Phil to be a professional storyteller, and he loved dogs and babies. He was an excellent baker and cook and he enjoyed working with radio controlled cars.
A remembrance gathering will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the New Knoxville Fire Department, Pastor Andy Atkins, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held at Huntsville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the New Knoxville Fire Department, where memorial gifts may be given to the fire department to purchase and maintain new equipment.
