Paul E. Hirn, 92, of St. Marys, OH died 10:06 a.m. Sunday January 12, 2025 at Otterbein -- St. Marys.
He was born May 3, 1932 in Mendon, OH to Ernest H. and Inez P. (Gayer) Hirn.
On August 8, 1951 he married Vivian L. Sawmiller, who died May 5, 2003.
Survivors include: son Edward J. (Deb) Hirn
daughter Pamela S. (Tim) Minnich
3 grandsons: Justin Minnich, Travis (Sunshine) Minnich, Alex (Shana) Hirn
1 granddaughter: DeAnna (Chris) Osterloh
3 great-grandsons: Kal-el, Elias, Ryker
6 great-granddaughters: Eternity, Serenity, Jubilee, AnnJulee, Evangeline, Elodie
1 step-grandson Timothy Minnich, Jr.
2 step-granddaughters Amanda (Andy) Minnich-White, Melissa Hostetler-Ostendorf

Preceded in death by: parents Ernest and Inez Hirn; wife Vivian Hirn; brother Glenn (Phyllis) Hirn; brother Clyde Hirn
He was a graduate of Mendon - Union High School (Class of 1950).
A proud American, he served his country as a military policeman during the Korean War.
Paul retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. following 44 years of service.
He was a member of Wayne Street Church, Mercer Lodge F & AM #121 and the Scottish Rite (Valley of Dayton).
Rites are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday February 8, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys, with Pastor Travis Minnich and Pastor Tim Benjamin, co-officiating.. Military funeral honors will be conducted at the funeral home. In addition, the Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic memorial rites in his honor. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Paul's family ask that donations be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
