OBITUARY
Opal Irene Stamm, 93, of Celina, OH died 11:30 p.m. Friday July 25, 2025 at Celina Manor Nursing Home, with her loving family at her bedside.
She was born November 1, 1931 in Jamestown, KY to Elisha Wade and Pearl Mattie (Wright) Appleby.
In 1949 at Connersville, IN, she married Wayne M. Stamm, who died September 28, 1986.
Survivors include:
Daughter Alice (Frank) Beougher of Celina, OH
Daughter Kristy (William) Leavitt of Omaha, NE
Grandchildren: Yvvonne (Bruce) Huff, Marsha Biehl, Stacey (Jason) Bowersock, Charles (Shonna) Beougher, Wayne (Michelle) Beougher, Angel (Greg) VanTrees, Candy (Joe) Isom, Crystal Pursifull, Cathy (Tony) Self, Charlotte Pursifull, Charlie (Lakishia) Pursifull, Christopher (Candace) Stamm, Bethany (John) Stambaugh, Tyler (Carmella) Bartley, William (Lizzie) Leavitt
Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by:
Parents Elisha and Pearl Appleby; husband Wayne Stamm; sister daughter Mildred Stamm
Opal had a long and meaningful life. Her journey took her from the hills of Kentucky to the heart of Ohio, where she spent her later years.
Throughout her life she was truly a caregiver at heart, giving generously of herself to support those around her. Her legacy is one of quiet strength and compassion; whether tending to loved ones or offering a helping hand in times of need, Opal’s presence brought comfort and reassurance.
May her memory bring peace and comfort to all who were touched by her kindness!
Rites are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday July 27, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.
Visitation 1:30 - 3:30 on Sunday at the funeral home.
