Norma “Jean” Vallo, 97, of Saint Marys, and formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died 5:40 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
She was born January 22, 1925, in Crooksville, Ohio, the daughter of Cecil and Mabel (White) Watts.
She married Robert Vallo on July 20, 1951; he preceded her in death on April 19, 1995.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Vallo of Orrville, Washington; by a granddaughter, Libby.
She is also survived by her nieces, Sharon Christ of Centerville; Theresa Snoderly of Terre Haute, Indiana; a nephew, Mike Vallo of Dayton, and by numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.
Jean served our country in the US Navy during WWII.
Jean was ahead of her time and became the first female manager at the Dayco Corporation in the 1960’s, something that was relatively unheard of for those times. She was loved by all her family and will be terribly missed! She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, Father Rob Muhlenkamp, celebrant. Military honors will be performed at the church by American Legion Post 323 and VFW Post 9289.
Friends may call from 10:00-10:30 Tuesday at the church.
