Nelson Lloyd Treadway, 67, of Findlay, OH passed away at home on the morning of July 6, 2026.
He was born on January 30,1959 in Lima, Ohio to Lloyd and Ellen (Marsteller) Treadway. His father survives in Findlay. On November 4, 1978, he married Susan Dunham.
Nelson served for 3 years in the US Army, as a helicopter crew chief in the 101 Airborne Division, at Ft. Campbell KY. After returning home to Findlay, he began his career in the car business. He started work at his father’s dealership, Lloyd Treadway Buick, then went on to become a Ford Dealer in both Kenton and Waterville, Ohio. In 2000, he resumed the family business; Treadway Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Findlay, until the business was sold in 2013. His most recent work before retirement was a pre-owned business specializing in buying and selling the Chrysler Crossfire sports car. As a car enthusiast, he collected memorabilia of all kinds over the years.
Nelson enjoyed gardening and planting. He was passionate about growing an abundant tomato crop each season. He took pride in his landscape talents that were showcased in his backyard at home. His 4 grandchildren; Tenley, Allie, Max, and Thurston, were a special joy to him.
He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughter, Christine (Devin) Kehoe; his sons, Adam(Carla) Treadway and step-grandchildren Tucker and Cody, and son, Nick Treadway. Also his sister; Kathy (Gregg) Warner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen.
A visitation will be held at Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave. Findlay OH 45840, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4 - 6 pm. A private family burial will occur at a later date.
