Nancy Elizabeth Schnarre, 85, from San Bernardino, CA, passed away on July 16, 2024. She is survived by her two children, Jean Elizabeth Grev (Ingar Grev), and John Dana Schnarre II (Amanda Schnarre); her brother, Rollin Gish III (Priscilla Gish); her sister, Barbara Jameson (Jim Jameson); and her three grandchildren: Vivian Maria Murdoch (Isaac Murdoch), Sarah Elizabeth Grev, and Theodore John Grev. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Dana Schnarre, and her parents, Rollin Edington Gish Jr., and Florence Elizabeth Gish. Nancy was born and raised in San Bernardino, California, and moved to Birmingham, Michigan in 8th grade. After graduating from Birmingham High School in 1957, she went on to attend and graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1961. She met her husband, John, at Miami and they were married in 1961 after graduating. Nancy spent the next 28 years as a homemaker, raising her children and doing High School and volunteer work for drug-free youth during the Reagan administration. She went to work for EDS in 1989 and worked her way up from temping to Technical Librarian in their Database Administration department. In 2004, John and Nancy moved from Michigan to Crofton, Maryland to be close to their grandchildren. From 1972 until her passing, Nancy was a member of P.E.O., an organization that celebrates, supports, and helps women advance through education. Among other initiatives with P.E.O., she acted as their Maryland local chapter's historian for 15 years. Nancy enjoyed reading, history, genealogy, gardening, following the news, taking vacations to Northern Michigan, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife who loved her husband in their 61 years together. She is now at eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held on July 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, OH 45885. The burial service will be held directly after at Elm Grove Cemetery, 631 Greenville Road, St. Marys, OH 45885.Visitation 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
