Melvin Dean Chaney

Melvin Dean Chaney, 74, of Rockford, OH, died 5:10 a.m. Sunday May 14, 2023 at Mercer Health in Coldwater, OH, with his family by his side.

He was born April 8, 1949 in Lima, OH to Ralph and Martha (Thompson) Chaney.

On June 24, 1967 he married Madonna Jean Miller, who survives.

                            daughter Angel (Don) Ginter of St. Marys, OH

                            daughter Teresa (Jeffrey) Zizelman of Celina, OH

                            11 grandchildren

                            several great-grandchildren

                            brother Chuck Chaney of St. Marys, OH

                            brother Larry (Chris) Chaney of St. Marys, OH

                            brother Rick (Shirley) Chaney of Punta Gorda, FL

Preceded in death by: parents Ralph and Martha Chaney; daughter Shelley Adams; granddaughter Jessica Ginter; sister Brenda Chaney; sister-in-law Cathy Chaney

For many years, he owned a construction and home improvement company in Florida.

Dean was an avid outdoorsman who liked hunting and fishing. More than anything else, he treasured the close relationship he had with his family.

Private funeral services will be held for immediate family.
