OBITUARY

Mary Ellen Burden, 71, of Wapakoneta, OH died 7:19 p.m. on Thursday July 31, 2025 in the presence of her loving family.

She was born February 6, 1954 in Lima, OH to James Howard and Ruth Louise (Byrne) Miller.

On October 28, 1972, she married Rodger Sam Burden, who died May 1, 2009.

son Scott (Cynthia) Burden of Waynesfield, OH

Son Paul Burden of Toledo, OH

Son Robert (Deanna) Burden of St. Marys, OH

Son Chad (Chelsea) Laffin of Wapakoneta, OH

Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Brother Ray Miller of Lima, OH

Sister-in-law Trisha MIller of Lee Hall, VA

Nieces and nephews

Special friend and companion Bobby Jordan

Preceded in death by: father James Howard Miller; mother Ruth L. Cass; husband Rodger Sam Burden; son Troy Burden, Sr.; grandson Jimmy Burden; brother Frank Miller; brother Chuck Miller; brother Jimmy Miller

She worked as the Assistant Humane Agent for Auglaize County. She also worked for the Fisher Cheese Co. in Wapakoneta and Emerson Climate Technologies in Sidney, where she was a forklift operator.

Her favorite pastimes included playing BINGO, making crafts and mowing the lawn!

Rites are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 13, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.

Visitation 4 - 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
