OBITUARY

Mary Christine Chaney, 71, of Noble Twp. in rural Auglazie Co., OH died 2:05 a.m. Thursday April 9, 2026 at her residence.

She was born August 5, 1954 in St. Marys, OH to Phillip and Nadine (Scheer) Flack.

On March 14, 1970 in St. Marys, OH she married Larry Eugene Chaney, who survives.

son Michael Chaney, Sr. of St. Marys, OH

bonus child Bruce (Christi) Parr of Ohio City, OH

Preceded in death by:

She worked for Wapak Products in Botkins, OH and as a cook at area restaurants including Happy Humpty, The Grill and JT’s Brew & Grill.

Mary will be remembered as one of the most kind and open-minded people to ever walk the face of this earth. Countless children were welcomed into the Chaney family home, where they received both discipline and love from this extraordinary woman. She guided others with a firm hand that was softened with a wonderful sense of humor. Her lone selfish indulgence was a penchant for fine clothing and designer purses.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 14, 2026 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.

Visitation 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
