OBITUARY
Marjorie "Marge" Mack, 91, formerly of Spencerville, OH, was born June 5th, 1933 and passed April 16th, 2025 at Otterbein Senior Living Center in St Marys, OH.
Marge was the youngest of 5, born to Edward and Anna Rose (Dean) Johnston in Clawson, MI. The little sister of Virginia, Carl, Warren and Bob all whom she cherished and preceded her in death.
On February 20th, 1954 she married Emerson Mack and moved to Spencerville, OH. where they lived for 50+ years before moving to St. Marys. OH. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary 7 months before Emerson passed in 2019.
Marge is survived by 3 sons: Steve (Kim) of Sunbury, OH, Chuck (Susan) of Sugarloaf Key, FL and Scott (Laurie) of N. Muskegon, MI., grandchildren, Lauren (Joel) Vogel of Galena, OH, Melissa (Bryan Cristina) Mack of Powell, OH, Clint Howren of Pearland, TX and Dawn (Beaux) Jackson of Austin, TX great grandchildren and bonus great grandchildren Jack and Emma Vogel, Abigail Burke, Ethan Burke, Isabella and Natalia Cristina, Dylan Howren and Phoenix Jackson, many nieces and nephews and special friends Grace Place, Ann Purdy, Marge Jessup, Sharon Siebert and Mary Lou Klopfenstein.
Marge graduated from Clawson HS and began a career in banking, in Royal Oak, MI and then Spencerville, OH. Once the kids were born she devoted her time to being a “boy Mom” where she nurtured a love of art, music and sports (by best estimate she attended 100+ football games, seemingly endless baseball games and countless wrestling matches cheering for her sons). She was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeye football team and the Detroit Tigers but her favorite sport, hands down, golf! She played until she was in her 80's (she had to be talked out of hitting balls into an old mattress in the garage given she was using a walker) and seldom missed a PGA event on TV.
She truly loved her time at Otterbein, her morning swims, her many friends and her daily walks along Grand Lake St. Marys.
Marge lived a life of service (there was always a bag of yarn next to her chair so she could crochet God knows how many, baby blankets that were donated), was actively involved with her church, community and in her younger years, Eastern Star but most of all, she loved her family and friends (and still kept in touch with friends of 75+ years), perhaps her greatest legacy.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 23, 2025 at Wayne Street Church in St. Marys.
Visitation will be 4 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys.
