Marilyn Jean (Mahoney) Newton, age 99, of St. Marys, OH, died peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Hospice Care Center.
She was born on July 1, 1926, in Oneonta, NY.

She was the proud grandmother of 15: Jennifer Crowell, Michael Newton, Justin Worrell, Kira Provo, Ariana Newton, Mike Gurlacz, Michelle Barnett, Erin Shaak, Tim Gilmore, Jenna Stenger, Becca Golden, Ray Newton, Jackie Sewell, Julia Sewell, Jonathan Sewell; and the great-grandmother of 16: Ashley, Nicole, Patrick, Michael, Nathan, Andrea, Hailey, Emily, Brea, Scarlett, Cooper, Millie, Liam, Lily, Sophia, Annabelle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Newton, and her sons, Kevin Newton and John Newton.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. She was a strong woman of faith who lived her life with grace, kindness, and steadfast conviction. Her long and abundant life was rooted in her belief that the Bible is the Word and will of God, and Jesus Christ was her personal Lord and Savior.
A private family gathering will be held in the spring.
