Jerry L Burford

Jerry L. Burford, 72, of Celina, Ohio, died 9:40 A.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.

He was born September 25, 1947, in Hazy, West Virginia, the son of Clay and Tressie (Legg) Burford, Sr.

He is survived by his children: Betsy (John) McPheron of Lima; Jessica (Jeremy) Williams of Celina. He is survived by his grandchildren: Nikole McPheron; Chase McPheron; Collin Williams: Mason Williams; Braylen Williams.

He is also survived by his siblings: Sherman Burford; David Burford; Jimmy Burford; Francis West; Sally Jackenheimer; Christine Mender. He is survived by his former wife, Barbara Nagel Burford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings: John Moses Burford; Clay Burford, Jr.; Mary Lou Warren; Nora Rothermel; Sue Burford.

Jerry graduate from Ashland High School, Ashland, Ohio, in 1965. He served in the US Air Force from 67-70, and retired from GTE/Verizon in 2003. He was a member of American Legion Post 210, and he enjoyed fishing, watching the Browns and the OSU Buckeyes. He was a member of the Mercer County Sportsmen Association.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be given to either Saint Ritas Hospice or Community Health Professionals.  

Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, is entrusted with Mr. Burford’s funeral arrangements.
