She attended the Huenke Schoolhouse through grade eight and was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1950). She completed training at Cleveland Secretarial School in Cleveland, working for Dr. Edwards in Lima after completion.

She worked as a dispatcher for the Ohio State Highway Patrol (Post #6) for many years. She also worked for the Bureau of Employment, McCullough Realty, Fred’s Income Tax Service and the Hairline Salon. In addition, she was co-owner of the Corner Cupboard Craft Shop.

Blessed with boundless energy, she did an incredible amount of volunteer work in her lifetime. If something needed done or someone needed assistance, she was there! She was known for making tasty cookies (chocolate chip and peanut butter), and had her own amazing Chex Mix recipe that she often shared with others. She also orchestrated her own “greeting card ministry” for family and friends.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends in card club. She and Fred spent many seasons in Bonita Springs, Florida, enjoying the sunshine and visiting friends. One of her favorite summer activities was spending time with her nieces at Clearlake, Indiana. She treasured her relationship with all of her many nieces and nephews, with whom she shared so many special memories.

Janet was also a very active member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, serving on the consistory and volunteering for many of the church activities.

Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
