James J Walter

James J. Walter, Sr., 67, of Saint Marys, died 3:43 Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.

He was born August 22, 1956, in Celina, the son of Hank and Jean (Burton) Walter.

He is survived by his children; Jay Walter of Saint Marys; Steve (Katie Gates) Walter of Moulton; Nikki (Billy) Christian of Saint Marys; Shane Walter of Saint Marys; by his life partner, Kelly Ward of Saint Marys; by his former wife Mardana Kachelries of Wapakoneta.He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. He is survived by a sister, Karen (Rick) Wilt of Jackson Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his siblings Sandy Dunlap; Nancy Rawlings; Rick Walter.

James attended Saint Marys Memorial High School and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

He retired from Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Saint Marys. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and the OSU Buckeyes, playing poker and fishing.

Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Bob Warren, officiant.
