Jackie R. "Jack" Slife, 73, of St. Marys, Ohio, died peacefully Saturday, March 5, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at his residence following an extended illness.
Jack was born March 24, 1948 in Celina, Ohio, to Herman and Goldie (Felver) Slife. His parents preceeded him in death.
On July 9, 1968, Jack married Peggy Burden, who survives at home.
Jack is also survived by 3 children; daughter Dawn (Chris) Gerstner, Wapakoneta, Ohio; daughter Sandy Engel, of St. Marys; and a son, Dave (Teresa) Slife, of St. Marys; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is survived by one sister, Jane (Frank) Pawlowicz, Clarksville, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Sherry Lynn, one great-great-grandchild, one step-brother, a niece and one nephew.
Jack was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Viet Nam. He retired from Crown Equipment Corporation after 46 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, and hunting, but most of all Jack loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Miller Funeral Homes, Ohio 703 West Chapel in St. Marys, Ohio. Funeral Rites will be 1:00 pm Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the funeral home. Pastor Tony Dirr will officiate.
Burial with full military rites will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.
