OBITUARY

Howard James Burke, 72, of Union City, TN died unexpectedly Thursday November 6, 2025 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN.

He was born September 4, 1953 in St. Marys, OH to David and Isabella (Hartke) Burke.

On June 2, 1979 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood, OH, he married Debbe Miller, who survives.

He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1971).

Howard worked as a tire builder for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 40 years (first, in St. Marys, OH and then, in Union City, TN. Following retirement, he worked as a driver for Nutrien Grain Co. and Partin Farms.

His favorite pastimes included coaching his three sons in baseball, crappie fishing at Kentucky Lake, playing golf at the old Wingfoot Goodyear Golf Course and taking meticulous care of his lawn and garden. Later in life, his priorities were centered around the activities of his cherished grandchildren.

He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union City, TN.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon on Friday November 14, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood, OH. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Glynwood.

Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.
