F. Pearl Reed, 76, of 129 Cherry Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 5:50 P.M. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.
He was born September 19, 1938, in Kodak, Kentucky, the son of Roy and Kate (Sumner) Reed.
In June of 1963 he married K. Sue Sullivan and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2003.
He is survived by his daughter, Deb (Dave) Fisher of Saint Marys; by three grandchildren: Danielle (Calvin) Pottkotter of Saint Marys; Dustin Fisher of Saint Marys; Derek Fisher of Saint Marys; by two great-grandchildren: Isabella Pottkotter and Cooper Pottkotter. He is survived by his siblings: Janice Johnson of Columbia City, Indiana; Billie Jean "Mick"Crutchfield of Columbia City; Anna Mae (Steve) Lawman of Lawrence, Iowa; Carol Parks of Saint Marys; Karen Russell of Alabama; Paula Nagel (and Dale Bowersock) of Saint Marys; James (Sandy) Johnson of Plainsville, Georgia; Robert (Helen) Reed of Columbia City. He is also survived by his beloved poodle, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and by two brothers-in-law, Clyde Crutchfield and Charlie Parks.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Pearl had worked at the City of Saint Marys Sanitation Department. He enjoyed working on cars and watching NASCAR races. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and was fan of the Cleveland Browns, Bluffton Beavers, and the Saint Marys Roughriders.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, with Dave Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
