Obituary 

Emilie “Jane” Pickering, 94, of St. Marys, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Vancrest St. Marys. 

She was born November 21, 1929 in St. Marys, Ohio to Wilbur and Winona (Joyce) Lininger. 

She first married Kenneth Topp; they had 2 children. In 1957, she married Ralph Pickering, Sr.; they had 3 children. 

She is survived by her children Kaye "Kaci" (Robin) Anderson of Celina OH, Kendra Bonifas of St. Marys OH, Julie (Gary) Garman of Lindale, GA, Ralph Pickering Jr. of Buckland, OH and Shelby (Brad) Wiechart of Celina, OH. She also had numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A sister Sarah McPheron of Lima, OH; sister Betty Katterheinrich of St. Marys, OH; brother Ronald (Peg) Lininger, Sr. of St. Marys, OH

She is preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Winona Lininger; husband Ralph Pickering, Sr.; brother William "Bill" Lininger; grandson Grant Sullivan; granddaughter Rene' Hammond. 

Over the years she was employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Huffy Bicycle Mfg Co. and several local restaurants. Her best loved position was being a stay at home mom and taking care of her family. 

“Jane” was a terrific cook, hosted amazing parties, decorated to the extreme for holidays and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She planned yearly Army reunions for her husband and his Army buddies, all across the country. 

She will be remembered for her love of Christmas, love of rock & roll music, her kind heart and her love for riding behind her husband on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle. 

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. Service will be held Wednesday January 3, 2023 at 10:30 at Millers Funeral Home. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens on County Road 33a.
