Eileen Schamp, 77, of Saint Marys, died 12:56 P.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at her residence.
She was born June 7, 1946, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Timmerman) Wibbeler.
She married Robert L. Schamp on February 11, 1967, at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, and Bob preceded her in death on January 11, 2017.
She is survived by her children: Laura Schamp Hawkey of Saint Marys; Mark Schamp of Saint Marys; Melissa (Mark) Hegemann of Cincinnati; Anna (Michael) Noonan of Chicago.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alisha (Sam) Merfeld; Bethany (Tyler) Corbitt; Jenna (Adam) Mielke; Kiley (Seth Kuck) Schamp; Josalyn (Cayden Wilson) Schamp; Nathan Hegemann; Joshua Hegemann; Andrew Hegemann; Alyvia Hegemann; Michael Noonan; Kyra Noonan; Ryan Noonan.
She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Daniel Merfeld; Kayelynn Merfeld; Connor Merfeld; Jaxson Sawmiller; Colton Arling; Judah Corbitt and Levi Corbitt. Also surviving are her siblings: Carol Knatz of Saint Marys; Ned (Barb) Wibbeler of Wapakoneta; Chris (Dave) Chivington of Saint Marys; Jan Suchland of Saint Marys; Gary (Christy) Wibbeler of Saint Marys; Dennis Wibbeler of Wapakoneta; Gregg Wibbeler of New Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Schamp; her brother, Lewis Wibbeler; her brother-in-law, Craig Suchland; her sister-in-law, Lynn Wibbeler.
Eileen was a 1964 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School, where she had been a cheerleader. She was a homemaker and had done babysitting for many years. She and Bob led the youth group at Walnut Grove Church for 36 years, and she was very active in the community. She was a great cook and loved attending her grandchildrens’ sporting events. She was a member of Walnut Grove Church, north of Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Parker Miley, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
