David John Chapman

OBITUARY

David John Chapman, 64, of rural Decatur, IN died 12:49 p.m. Thursday October 31, 2024 in the emergency department of JTDM Hospital in St. Marys, OH.

He was born July 10, 1960 in Edgerton, WI to Raymond Frederickson and Marilyn L. “Gerri” Chapman.

Survivors include: wife Pamela K. (Postema) Chapman of Decatur, IN

                             son James (Heather) Hornbeak of Butler, IN

                             son Kurtis (April) Hornbeak of Kendallville, IN

                             daughter Gena (James) Dreesen of Brownsburg, IN

                             9 grandchildren: Alexis (Austin) Crow, Zachary Hornbeak, Kadyn Hornbeak, Jake Johnson, Vince Anderson, Dustin Hornbeak, Sebastian Hornbeak, Mike Dreesen, Jenny Dreesen

                              3 great-grandsons: Carson, Colton and Liam Crow

Preceded in death by: parents Raymond and Marilyn “Gerri” Chapman; brother Michael Chapman

 He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Chapman was employed by SWIFT Transportation for 30 years. Currently, he was serving as a Managing Director, having been assigned to the Ferguson Enterprises Distribution Center in Celina, OH.

He will be remembered as an extremely hard-working individual with a photographic memory. His favorite pastimes included traveling, spending time with his family and caring for his pet dogs.
