OBITUARY

Dale B. Severt, 68, of St. Marys, OH (Villa Nova-on-the-Lake), died 3:00 p.m. Friday July 18, 2025 at his residence with his loving family at his bedside.

He was born October 10, 1956 in Dayton, OH to Elmer and Marie (Poeppelmen) Severt.

On Jun 11, 1988 in Eaton, OH he married Sylvia M. Frieszell, who survives. 

Also survived by: daughter Sherrie Frieszell of Lewisburg, OH

                             son Floyd Frieszell of St. Marys, OH

                             daughter Bridgett (Zach Yahl) Severt of Fairborn, OH

                             daughter Ashley (Trent) Tatham of Bowling Green, OH

                             3 grandchildren: Tarin Frieszell, Dalton Adkins, Kiley Adkins

                             Sister Tommie Severt of Clayton, OH

                             sister Ann Kimmel of Vandalia, OH

                             sister Mary Nole of New Lebanon, OH

                             brother Tom (Carolyn) Severt of Lewisburg, OH

                             brother Jerry (Terri) Severt of Englewood, OH

                             numerous nieces and nephews

                             four-legged fur child “Maggie May” 

Preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Marie Severt.

He was a graduate of Northmont High School – MCJVS (Class of 1974) in Clayton, OH.

Dale worked as a carpenter in the construction industry for many years in the Dayton area.

He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie # 1291 in Celina, OH. Dale and Sylvia enjoyed volunteering with the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources, having served as Camp Hosts for the Grand Lake St. Marys Campground.

He was a fan of Cincinnati Reds baseball and Cincinnati Bengals football. His favorite pastimes included woodworking, boating on his pontoon which was affectionately named “Yes, Dear”, camping and visiting with family and close friends. Dale will be remembered as “Mr. Fix-It” for the countless projects he completed for family members, friends and neighbors.
