Carolynn (Ramga) Sidey

Carolynn G. Sidey, 84, of Wapakoneta, died 10:00 P.M. Sunday, December 24, 2023, at her residence.

She was born February 19, 1939, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Geraldine (Bonifield) Ramga.

She married Ray Sidey on August 27, 1960, at the Bethlehem Union Church, and he survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her son-in-law, Michael Loyer of Cincinnati; by her two grandchildren:  Benjamin (Lauren) Loyer of  Batavia; Jeannette (Eric) Manger of Centerville; by her two great-grandchildren: Glenn and Arthur Manger. She is survived by her brother, Glenn (Kay) Ramga of Wapakoneta; her sister, Pauletta (Jim) Welshimer of Findlay. She is survived by two loving nieces: Annette Ramga-Allatore and Rachel (Alt) Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her two children, Paul Sidey and Janine Sidey Loyer.

She was a 1957 graduate of Buckland High School, and a 1960 graduate of the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where she was a Registered Nurse and was the Manager of the Pediatric ward and the Obstetric Ward for many years.She assisted in the birth of more than 15, 000 babies in her long career at the hospital. A true caregiver,she displayed a quiet confidence and ability to make her patients feel comfortable. She also appreciated the relationships she had with her many co-workers at the local hospital.

She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys. She served many years with the JTDMH Auxiliary, and had served as president.

Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to Wayne Street Church. Friends may also call from noon til the time of services on Saturday at the church.
