OBITUARY
Carol J. Wilkie-Poorman, 93, of St. Marys Twp. in Auglaize Co., OH died 8:27 a.m. Thursday September 5, 2024 at Otterbein – St. Marys.
She was born April 21, 1931 in Toledo, OH to Leonard and Laura (Chase) Peters.
She married James Wilkie on December 18, 1949. Following his death, she married Lloyd Poorman on December 18, 1987.
Survivors include: daughter Jamie Carpenter of St. Marys, OH
son Edward Wilkie of St. Marys, OH
son Eric Wilkie of St. Marys, OH
grandchildren: Norman (Kris) Carpenter, James (Jennifer) Carpenter, Benjamin Carpenter, Corey Wilkie, Daniel Wilkie, Devin Stover
great-grandchildren: Cadence, Bella, Ally, Lana, Will and Elise Carpenter; Klara and Athena Wilkie; Rylie Stover
step-children: Gary, Lindsay and Ben Poorman; Al, Verl Graber
Preceded in death by: parents Leonard and Laura Peters; first husband James Wilkie; second husband Lloyd Poorman, daughter Christie Kay Wilkie; brother Bernard Peters; brother Wilbur Peters; brother Lewis Peters; brother David Peters; sister Donna Mikolajczyk; brother Martin Peters; son-in-law Bill Carpenter; step-son Daryl Graber; step-son Rick Poorman; step-daughter Carol Todd
She was a graduate of Swanton, OH High School (Class of 1949).
She worked as a real estate agent for many years. Later in life, she helped her daughter’s family in the operations of Carpenter Bros. Amusements for area festivals and fairs.
Her favorite pastimes included gardening, square dancing, attending garage sales, and painting (acrylics and oils). In addition, she was an avid reader throughout her entire life.
Rites are scheduled to begin 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 11, 2024 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. Elder Kevin Koeper will officiate the services. Private family burial will take place at the Union Cemetery in Wauseon, OH.
Visitation 2 - 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
