Bryon S. Eshelman, 66, of New Knoxville, died 10:10 P.M. Sunday, December 31, 2023, at his residence.
He was born November 6, 1957, in Bellevue, Ohio, the son of William and Gweneth (Storer) Eshelman.
He married Janet Gase on October 2, 1981, in Clyde, Ohio, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Christian (Brittney) Eshelman of Versailles, Ohio; Kevin Eshelman of Kettering, Ohio; Meredith Werner of Berlin, Germany; by his grandchildren: Audrey; Evelyn and Louis; by his sisters: Lynn Monday of Fremont, Ohio; Marla Bump of Clintonville, Ohio
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter, Gweneth Eshelman.
Bryon was a 1976 graduate of Clyde High School. He attended Heidelberg College and was a licensed nursing home administrator. He had worked at nursing facilities all over the United States during his career.
He was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved fantasy football leagues, too, and playing poker with his buddies at the gun clubs in New Knoxville and New Bremen. He had served as president of the New Knoxville Gun Club, and he liked to shoot trap there. He loved to golf, hunt and fish, and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen, where he sang in the church choir for many years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen, Father Mark Hoying, celebrant. Friends are family are invited to pray the rosary at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the church, prior to the funeral mass.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Music Ministry of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Stephen Ministry of the Church, New Knoxville Fire Department, or to his family to assist with funeral expenses.
