Betty I. (Tester) Vogel

Betty Vogel, 99, of Saint Marys, died 4:45 A.M. Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 5, 1923, near Moulton, Ohio, the daughter of Grant and Nora Belle (Hines) Tester.
She married William Vogel on January 24, 1945, and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1999.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Margy) Vogel of Saint Marys; by her grandchildren: Megan (Stacey) Roby; Deena (Gregg) Divelbiss; Derek (Melissa Sawmiller) Vogel. 

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Hayden Roby; Hudson Roby; Genevieve Divelbiss; Vivienne Divelbiss; Maddox Vogel; Dylan Roby; Logan Miller; Keegan Sawmiller; Alivia Sawmiller; Kayla Sawmiller. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Wilma Tester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her siblings: Floetta Tester; Edna Metzger; Cora Tester; Lucy Brown; Dorothy Dingledine; Marjorie Jones; Raymond Tester; Vernon Tester; Howard Tester; Donald Tester.

Betty attended a one room schoolhouse near Moulton and graduated from Blume High School in 1941. 

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys. Betty enjoyed the upkeep of her home and yard, going out for a bite to eat; baking cookies, an occasional word search, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Funeral rites will be held 3:30 P.M. Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 until the time of services on Sunday at the church, where memorial gifts may be given to the William L. Vogel, Jr. Family Fund at the St Marys Community Foundation.
