OBITUARY

Betty Lou Duer-Smith, 77, of St. Marys, OH died 5:41 p.m. Friday March 8, 2024 in the emergency department of Lima Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1946 in St. Marys, OH.

Survivors include: daughter Tammy (Ty) Courtney of Van Wert, OH

                              son Tony Russell of St. Marys, OH

                              daughter Pam Slife of Cridersville, OH

                              son Ronald Dean Smith II of St. Marys, OH

                              6 grandchildren  15 great-grandchildren  2 great-great-grandchildren

                              brother Allen (Deloris) Irish of Coldwater, OH

Preceded in death by: mother Hazel Stoker-Benson; husband James Duer; husband Ronald Dean Smith; daughter Betty Jean Duer-Hertz; son Brian Russell; sister Erma Langenkamp; brother Jack Irish; brother Andy Irish; brother Richard Irish; sister Billie Slone; brother Charles Irish

She had worked as a production employee for Goodyear tire & Rubber Co and Huffy Bicycle Mfg. Co.  She had also worked at JTDM Hospital for a number of years in the housekeeping department.

Her favorite pastimes included family camping trips and spending time around the campfire at her home.

Ries are scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 12, 2024 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.

Visitation 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
