Obituary
Barbara Jean Hunt, 73, of Saint Marys, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at her residence.
She was born October 2, 1949, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Compton, Sr. and Edna (Getz) Compton.
She married Ernest Hunt in 1968 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1991.
She is survived by her daughters: Dawn (Jon) Hall of Saint Marys; Bridget (Russ) Taylor of Spencerville; Holly (Jason) Mabry of Saint Marys; Nicole (Jay) Smith of Minster; Stephanie (Dave) Beard of Saint Marys; Amber (Mike) Gambill of Saint Marys; by her 19 grandchildren and her 27 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings: Terry Compton of Wisconsin; Robert Compton, Jr. of Peoria, Illinois; Paul Stippich, Jr. of North Carolina; Susan Caris of Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Compton, Sr.;her mother and step-father: Edna (Paul) Stippich, Sr; by two sons: EJ Hunt and Keith Hunt.
Barb had worked for many years at Dollar General. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, reading, watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. She enjoyed caring for her dog, Piper, and she loved spending time with her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 5-7 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys. Please come and share a memory of Barb with the family.
