Alvin E. Saintignon, 91, of rural Celina, OH died 9:58 a.m. Saturday August 28, 2021 at Mercer Health Community Hospital in Coldwater, OH.
He was born June 18, 1930 in Darke Co., OH to Delbert and Leona (Miller) Saintignon.
On November 9, 1954 in Celina, OH he married Mary Ann Muhlenkamp, who died December 9, 2008.

son Rick (Michele) Saintignon of St. Marys, OH
daughter Connie (Cliff) Rempfer of St. Marys, OH
daughter Elaine (Dan) Baumer of Celina, OH
15 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren
sister LaVerne Fisher of Wapakoneta, OH
sister-in-law Pauline Hess of Coldwater, OH
sister-in-law Dorothy Hoyng of Celina, OH
brother-in-law Gerald (Eileen) Muhlenkamp of Celina, OH
Preceded in death by: parents Delbert and Leona Saintignon; wife Mary Ann Saintignon; son Bruce (Lois) Saintignon; brother Eldon (Bonnie) Saintignon and infants sons: Randall and Timothy Saintignon
A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served his country in a tank division during the Korean War.
Al worked as a heavy equipment operator for all of his adult life -- first for Matt Schweiterman Inc. in Coldwater and then, eventually retired from Saintignon Excavating Co. in rural Celina.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Montezuma, OH; Eagles Lodge Aerie #691 in Wapakoneta, OH; American Legion Post #241 in New Bremen, OH; and was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association.
His favorite pastimes included riding his motorcycle, taking meticulous care of his lawn and watching birds.
Al will be remembered as outgoing, ornery and extremely hard-working. He had an uncanny ability to be able to fix almost anything, and took great pride in helping repair needed machinery for area farmers.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday September 2, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Montezuma, with the Rev. Alexander Witt and Deacon Marty Brown as celebrants.
Burial, with graveside military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lots for Soldiers Program in Celina, OH or to Charity of Donor's Choice.
