Albert J Reier

Albert J. Reier, 91, of Wapakoneta, died 6:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at his residence.

He was born January 18, 1929, in Celina, the son of Albert and Matilda (Zahn) Reier.

He married Della Bowersock on December 2, 1950, at St. John Catholic Church in Lima; she preceded him in death on December 2, 2002.

He is survived by his children: Jeanne Micheal of Saint Marys; Vicki (Michael) Wartner of South Vienna, Ohio; Peggy Wale of Saint Marys; Timothy (Nancy) Reier of Wapakoneta; by 8 grandchildren; by 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother: Leonard Reier; a sister, Mary Fiebelkorn.

Al was a 1946 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He retired after more than 40 years of service at Goodyear St. Marys, and he was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood. He had been an adult Mass server for many years, taught CCD classes and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and had served as a Little League manager.

A private, family only, Mass of  Christian Burial  will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 21, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Glynwood, Father Alexander Witt, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Glynwood.

All attendees to the Mass are required to wear a mask, in accordance with the mandates of the Ohio Department of Health.

Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, is entrusted with Al’s funeral arrangements, and memorial gifts may be given to Agape Ministries in Saint Marys.
