Thomas Martin Lynskey, Jr, passed away on December 28 at Otterbein, St. Marys, with his

wife and sons at his side. He was born on April 11, 1949, in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was

proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and June Merckle Lynskey, Brothers David and Timothy,

and in-laws George and Melva Patterson.

He is survived, and will be fondly remembered and missed, by his wife, Darlene Patterson Lynskey,

married June 20, 1970, at St. Joan of Arc Church in Wheeling, W. Va. He also leaves three sons, Eric

(Susan) Lynskey, and their children Sarah Jane and Charlie, of Sugar Hill, Georgia. Adam Lynskey of

Wichita Falls, Texas, and his daughter Ashley, Columbus, Ohio. Kevin (Tiffany) Lynskey and their

children Kallen and Owen, of Irvine, California. Also, sisters Suzanne (Jay) and Elizabeth (Dennis), of

Wheeling, W. Va., along with numerous nieces and nephews, and also a brother-in-law, David Patterson

of Wadsworth, Ohio.

Thomas attended Wheeling Central Catholic High School in Wheeling, W. Va., graduating in 1966 after

which he attended Wheeling Jesuit University receiving a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry in 1970.

He was also a veteran of the Armed Forces, having served for seven years in the United States Navy,

retiring as a Lieutenant and navigator of the USS Harlan County. He was employed in research and

development for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys, Ohio. He was a member of the

Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys and the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club. As a skilled

marksman, he enjoyed target and trap shooting. He also enjoyed duck hunting at Grand Lake with his

favorite yellow lab, Molly, along his side. The family spent many memorable times boating, fishing and

playing on the lake. He also spent many days each year roaming the hills in his beloved West Virginia,

near Parkersburg, with his best lifelong friend, Jay MacGregor. He and Darlene loved to travel, making

their way from Europe to Russia and Japan, and especially visiting with their children and

grandchildren.

Local Rites are scheduled to begin 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Miller Funeral Home,

(1605 Celina Road, Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.

Visitation from 4-7p.m. On Friday prior to Rites.

Friends will be received at the Lynskey home following the service.
