Thomas George Loegel, 78, died November 8, 2018 at Otterbein -- St. Marys.

He was born May 5, 1940 in St. Johns, OH to Carl G. "Dutch" and Mary Ellen (Rinehart) Loegel.

He is survived by: step-sister Patricia Loegel of Wapakoneta, OH

                             brother-in-law Carl Schumann of St. Marys, OH

                             nephew Mark (Diane) Schumann of Heron, MT

                             nephew Brad (Adria) Schumann of Bloomington, IL

                             nephew Paul (Deb) Schumann of Minster, OH

                             nephew Eric (Jill) Schumann of Tipp City, OH

                             niece Deb Schumann of Normal, IL

                             12 great-nieces and great-nephews

Preceded in death by: parents Carl "Dutch" and Mary Ellen Loegel; sister Marlene Schumann; nephew Randy Schumann

Tom was a graduate of Blume High School (Class of 1958) in Wapakoneta, OH and attended Bowling Green State University.

He proudly served his country, having spent four years in the United States Air Force.

Following his discharge from the military, he settled in Newark, OH and began a 26-year career with what is now the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center in Newark.

He attended the Christian Union Church in Heath, OH.

He was a member of the Sertoma Club in Newark and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

His favorite pastimes included traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Private services will be held with the family..

Burial, with military funeral honors, will take place at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Gutman, OH.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation, Grand Lake Hospice or a charity of your choice.
