Mary J (Fortman) Sunderland

Mary J. Sunderland, 81, of St Marys, died Friday, December 21, 2018, at Vancrest of St Marys.

She was born August 31, 1937, in St Marys, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Agnes (Borgert) Fortman.

She is survived by her children: Steve (Sue) Moyar of St Marys; Jim (Donna) Moyar of St Marys; Rick (Jennifer) Moyar of St Marys; Wyche (Carla) Sunderland, Jr. of St Marys; Barbara Sunderland of St Marys; Dianne Hardeman of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She is survived by 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; by her sisters: Judith Lewis of Dallas, Texas; Phyllis (Henry) Burklo of Bryan, Ohio. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Sophie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Thomas Moyar; by her husbands Jesse Moyar and Wyche Sunderland, Sr; by a brother, Dave Fortman.

Mary was a graduate of St Marys Memorial High School. She had worked at G. C. Murphy Company in St Marys, and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

She enjoyed sewing and doing embroidery work. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. St Marys.

Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St Marys, Father Barry Stechschulte, officiant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the Auglaize County Humane Society.
