Joyce E. Heithaus, 67, of 466 South Beech Street, and formerly of Amityville, New York, died 11:52 A.M. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at her residence.

She was born May 4, 1950, in Amityville, New York, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor (Claasen) Heithaus.

She was previously married to Richard Walters, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children: Alan Walters of Mastic Beach, New York; Donna Walters of Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her grandchildren: Claudia Polansky; Ryan Walters; Tyler Walters; Jessica Cano; Julie Cano; Jasmine McKnight; Michael McKnight, and by her dog, Sasha. She is survived by a brother, Bruce Heithaus of New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Gary Walters; by her former husband, Richard Walters.

Joyce was a 1969 graduate of Amityville High School. She was a homemaker and also a certified nurse aide. She enjoyed bowling and spending time on her computer.

Memorial rites will be held January 26, 2018, in Lindenhurst, New York.
