Gary Elshoff, 64, of 206 East Spring Street, New Knoxville,  OH, died 12:58 P.M. Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Lima Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

He was born January 22, 1943, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of Lawrence and Edna (Aufderhaar) Elshoff.

He is survived by one sister, Joann Elshoff of Minster; by several cousins: Leonard (Vera) Elshoff of Spencerville; Janet (Alfred) Manbeck of New Bremen; Sandy (Bob) Curts of New Knoxville; Connie (Kenneth) Cordonnier of New Knoxville; Jim (Jeanne) Andrews of Brunswick, Ohio; Robert (Alice) Andrews of Parma; an aunt and uncle Robert (Alice) Andrews of Brookpark, Ohio. (NOTE: This is not a typo. They have the same names)

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a 1961 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was employed at Hoge Brush Company for many years and more recently at Ray's Recycling.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, growing flowers and writing poetry; he had numerous pen pals all over the world. He really enjoyed visiting with his friends in various restaurants in the area. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the First United Church of Christ, the Very Reverend David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1-3 P.M. Sunday at the church, where memorial donations may be directed to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the church.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville.
