Donna “Jean” Knatz, 87, of Saint Marys, died 7:45 P.M. Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
She was born October 15, 1931, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Robert and Luella (Mees) Lenhart.
She married Harold Knatz on September 30, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys; he survives at the residence.
She is also survived by her two children: Mike (Loretta) Knatz of Saint Marys; KayAnn (Randy) Lauth of Saint Marys. She is survived by a grandson, Chad Reiher; by two great-grandchildren: Prestin Godfrey and Lucas Coldiron; by a great-great-granddaughter, Blaire Coldiron. Also surviving is a brother, Don (Jacque) Lenhart of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jean was a 1949 graduate of Buckland High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a farmers’ wife. She liked to travel, play cards with her many good friends and family, and helping on the farm. She loved animals, loved her children and loved to read. She had formerly worked at Name Plate in Spencerville. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, where she had taught Sunday School for many years.
She belonged to the Rural Womens’ Club, she liked to make ceramics, and she also liked to mow her grass. Her favorite time of year was the Christmas season!
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to either Zion Lutheran Church or Grand Lake Hospice.
